Why Correct Draw Length is Your Foundation
In compound archery, "close enough" isn't good enough. The draw length dictates your Anchor Point and your Eye-to-Peep alignment.

Too Long: Causes "string slap" on your arm, forces you to lean your head back, and creates instability at full draw.

Too Short: Scrunches your posture, prevents proper back tension, and leads to a cramped, inconsistent shot.
Phase 1: Measuring Your True Draw Length
Before turning any screws, you need an accurate measurement. The most reliable method is the "Wingspan" formula:

Stand naturally and extend your arms out to your sides (forming a "T").

Have someone measure from the tip of one middle finger to the other.

The Formula: (Wingspan in inches - 15) / 2.
(Example: A 70" wingspan / 2.5 = 28" Draw Length)
Phase 2: How to Adjust (The Two Main Methods)
Method A: Rotating Modules (Most Common)
Most modern compound bows use rotating modules.

Loosen the screws holding the module in place on the cam.

Rotate the module to the numbered setting corresponding to your desired length (check your bow’s manual for the specific chart).

Re-tighten the screws securely. Ensure both the top and bottom cams are set to the exact same position.
Method B: Replaceable Modules
Some high-performance bows require a specific module for each length. You will need to swap out the physical piece on the cam to change the setting.
Phase 3: Synchronizing the Draw Stops
After adjusting the length, you must adjust the Draw Stops. These are the small pegs that hit the limb or cable to create the "Wall" at full draw. If these are not synced, your bow will feel "mushy" and your timing will be off.
